Which devices does Plusy work on?

Plusy works in a modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download: open plusy.app and sign in at plusy.app/login. An iPhone and iPad app is on the way. There is no Android app, so on an Android phone or tablet Plusy is used in the browser.

The screen adapts to its width. On a phone there is a top bar and the five tabs sit at the bottom. On a wide screen the tabs move to a sidebar and the daily goal and streak sit to one side.

Plusy needs an internet connection. There is no offline mode: each round is started and saved with the server, which is also what keeps progress the same on every device.

Is it the same account on every device?

Yes. One Plusy account works everywhere, and progress, hearts, coins and the streak are kept in the account, so they follow your child from the family computer to a phone. Sign in with the same email or Google account each time. If Plusy is unlocked, it is unlocked on every device too.

A few small choices are kept on each device instead: the language, the Voice switch, and which road is on screen. Set those once on each device you use.

How do I add Plusy to the home screen?

You can add Plusy to a phone's or tablet's home screen with the browser's own shortcut feature, so it opens with one tap like an app. This is part of Safari and Chrome, not of Plusy, so the exact wording can differ a little between versions. The shortcut opens Plusy in the browser.

On an iPhone or iPad

1

Open Plusy in Safari

Go to plusy.app and sign in.

2

Tap the Share button

It is the square with an arrow pointing up.

3

Choose Add to Home Screen

Scroll the list if you do not see it, then tap Add.

On an Android phone or tablet

1

Open Plusy in Chrome

Go to plusy.app and sign in.

2

Open the menu

Tap the three dots at the top of the screen.

3

Choose Add to Home screen

Confirm the name and tap Add.

What is different on a computer?

On a computer your child can use the real keyboard. Digits type the answer, Enter works as Check and then Continue, and the keys 1 to 4 pick a multiple choice answer. With a mouse or trackpad the on-screen number pad is not drawn. Phones and tablets keep the number pad.

On a wide screen, the steps for a column question sit in a panel beside the working. On phones and tablets the current step sits under it. See help while solving.

Does Plusy work in Hebrew, right to left?

Yes. Plusy is in 14 languages, and choosing Hebrew or Arabic turns the whole page right to left. Sums stay left to right inside those sentences. Long division is set out as schools write it in Israel, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Russia, and in the common bracket layout elsewhere. To change language, tap the flag at the top and pick from Languages.

The language is kept on the device. If no language has been picked, the browser's own language decides.

Why did the page reload by itself?

Plusy reloads the page by itself when a newer version is ready. It checks from time to time and when you come back to the tab, and it reloads only between rounds, never in the middle of a question or while a list is being written. There is no message and nothing to tap.

To see which version a device is running, open the You tab, then Grown-ups, then Settings, and look for Version. If something looks stuck, see troubleshooting.

Questions

Is there a Plusy app to download?

Not yet. An iPhone and iPad app is on the way, and there is no Android app. Until then Plusy runs in the browser at plusy.app, and a home screen shortcut makes it one tap away.

Can my child play at school and carry on at home?

Yes. Progress is kept in the account, so signing in with the same account at home shows the same roads, coins and streak. The language and the Voice switch are set on each device.

Can my child play without internet, in the car for example?

No. Plusy needs a connection to start and save every round. If the connection drops at the end of a round, Plusy says it could not save and offers Retry.

Which browser should we use?

Any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. One detail for worksheet photos: pictures in the iPhone's default HEIC format open only in Safari, and other browsers ask for a JPG.

Do we pay again for each device?

No. Unlock Plusy belongs to the account, not to the device. Sign in with the same account anywhere and Plusy is unlocked there too.
